There’s nothing we love more than a handsome man in a suit. You lovely brides are always telling us that one of your favourite moments of the day is clapping eyes on your husband-to-be for the first time, suited and booted and waiting for you at the end of the aisle. Whatever your other half wears on a daily basis, his personal style can now be reflected in the wedding day fashion. There are some really amazing tailored and ready to wear options now, perfect for every budget. So here are four of the trends we’re really loving for grooms at the moment and the best places to shop the looks…
Not just for cocktail parties and evening soirees, the black tie is having a real moment in the wedding world. We LOVE this look as it kind of means everyone has to dress the part. Think gowns, heels and fascinators. It’s suave and sophisticated but also a little bit cheeky – the perfect look if your groom wears a suit most days and wants something a little different. Also perfect if your dress is sleek and sexy – you need the 007 to your Bond Girl…
If the vibe of your day is more relaxed and you’re steering away from the traditional – then have you considered a light jacket for your groom? Not only are the shades perfect for complimenting soft and romantic colour schemes, but these tones are also gorgeous for summer months. Although, as demonstrated in our moodboard below, pair light jackets with burgundy and you’re on to an Autumnal winner too.
Navy has been the obvious choice of weddings for a long time, it’s classic, elegant and timeless. But right now, we’re loving a slightly brighter shade of blue. It just pops a little more, it’s a little more fun and definitely feels younger. I think I secretly love it because it calls for a lovely pair of tan brogues – the only type of footwear for men that I actually like (hahaha).
And last but by no means least, possibly the most fun way to dress for your wedding day – checks. I love the vibe a checked suit brings to proceedings, it’s casual, cheeky and just perfect for a rustic wedding. The best thing about this pattern is that it can varying in thickness too – depending on the material. Go light in a checked linen, or opt for the warmth of a tweed. Whenever and where ever your wedding is, there’s a checked suit that’s perfect for the occasion.
